Vortex Biotechnology has forged a strong collaborative partnership with the
Sanford Burnham Prebys (SBP) Medical Research Institute to accelerate drug
discovery against Vortex-identified targets. Together, the teams have already
submitted two major research proposal, one to the National Institutes of
Health and another to the Department of Defense, focused on developing
first-in-class small-molecule therapies for breast cancer. In close collaboration
with Dr. Steven Olson, Executive Director and Head of Medicinal Chemistry at
the SBP Prebys Center, the group has designed and synthesized a series of
novel compounds with the potential to inhibit Vortex’s high-value targets. This
work continues to advance, laying the foundation for future breakthroughs.
